Makundi matatu ndani ya Chama tawala cha Sudan People Liberation Movement (SPLM) cha Sudan Kusini, yametia saini makubaliano ya kuanza mazungumzo ya kurejesha umoja na kusitisha vita.
Makubaliano hayo yalifikiwa katika mazungumzo yaliyofanyika Ngurdoto Mountain Lodge, nje kidogo ya Jiji la Arusha.
Makubaliano hayo yaliyoongozwa na Rais Jakaya Kikwete yakiwashirikisha Rais wa Sudan Kusini, Salva Kiir na hasimu wake, Riek Machar aliyekuwa Makamu wa Rais.
Akizungumza baada ya makubaliano hayo, Katibu Mkuu wa CCM ambao ndiyo wapatanisha wa makundi hayo, Abdulrahman Kinana, alishauri pande zote kuridhia makubaliano hayo ili kurejesha amani ya Sudan Kusini. Kinana alisema maazimio hayo ni kuendelea na majadiliano ili kuondoa tofauti ndani ya chama hicho, kuheshimu misingi ya chama, kuheshimu demokrasia na usawa ndani ya chama.
Wakizungumzia mkutano huo, Rais Kiir na aliyekuwa makamu wake, Machar walieleza kuridhishwa kwao na mazungumzo hayo yanayoratibiwa wa CCM. Rais Kiir alisema ni muhimu kurejesha umoja na mshikamano nchini mwake kama ulivyokuwapo wakati wa kutafuta uhuru.
Machar alitaka kutumika vizuri fursa ya mazungumzo ili kuhakikisha amani na utulivu vinarejea nchini humo.
Rais Jakaya Kikwete alieleza kuridhishwa kwake na hatua zilizofikiwa katika makubaliano hayo.
