Make 'em tuck their whole fall in
August is just about over and I really have to commend you: I’m sure
it took a whole lot of restraint not to have to make all these other
rappers tuck their whole summer in. You could’ve released new music. I
mean you’re Kanye West, who’s going to tell you no? And word on the
street is that you’re just about finished recording your new album, and
if you ask me, this weekend would be the perfect time to drop some new
music.
As a matter of fact, you’ll be performing at the Budweiser Made In America Festival
this weekend, so I know I’ll hear all my favorites: “Can’t Tell Me
Nothing,” “Mercy,” “New Slaves.” But if you really want to make a
splash, really make this weekend memorable, might I suggest you drop “All Day” live on that stage in Philadelphia on Saturday.
Ever since you told GQ that certain lines on the song are like
lyrics that Jay Z would write, my interest has been piqued (along with
every other rap fan with a pulse). I’m not going to lie, I listened to
lo-fi rip. You would’ve too if it was 1997 and a new Ma$e song leaked
out onto a DJ Clue tape, right?
Listen, I’m sure this weekend’s shows in Philly and L.A. will be
great regardless, but if you want to create that where-were-you-when
moment, I’m telling you, dude, drop some new music and make these
rappers tuck their whole fall in.
P.S. Can you please try to convince Jay Z to put together a Roc-A-Fella reunion tour, he never got back to us on that
